Novena in Honor of Our Lady of Walsingham
Saturday, September 15 - Monday, September 24

Join us in praying a special nine-day prayer for the intercession of Our Lady of Walsingham.  On the tenth day, we will conclude with The Angelus, a prayer of devotion and belief in the Incarnation, in memory of the very first of Our Lady's joys — “The Annunciation”.
Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham
Monday, September 24

All are invited to join Bishop Knestout and the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia, The Right Reverend Herman Hollerith IV, for an ecumenical evening vespers service (7:00 - 8:00 p.m.) for the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, 510 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23185.  Vespers will be followed by a reception in the John XXIII Building across the parking lot.

Because devotion to Our Lady is shared by both Catholics and Anglicans, invitations to Anglican parishes have also been extended.  Other events for this feast day include 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Angelus, Rosary, and Mass in the Shrine, and a 6:00 p.m. Rosary Procession,  beginning at the College of William and Mary Wren Chapel, walking up Richmond Road and arriving at the Shrine by 6:45 p.m.

A Plenary Indulgence will be received when visiting the National Shrine on this feast day for any faithful who participate in any Sacred Rite or at least recite the Lord’s Prayer and the Profession of Faith.  This Plenary Indulgence can be received under the usual conditions of: (1) Having the interior disposition of complete detachment from sin, even venial sin, (2) Sacramental Confession, (3) Holy Communion while participating at Mass, (4) Prayers offered for the intentions of the Holy Father.
